Provides a clearly detailed view of the software usage and its entitlements and this helps avoid overspending thus cost control

What do you dislike most about this product?

Configuration is very complex and the learning curve is also steep

Always run scheduled reviews for software usage and subscription to know the under-utilized assets that should be downsized

And from an engineering perspective, one of the key differentiators is this category is how data is collected and normalized.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The subtle benefits is how improve cross-team conversations. When engineering, finance, and IT all have access to the same usage data, discussion around renewals or tool consolidation becomes less subjective. And In most companies, software usage doesn’t stay neatly documented.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The practical drawback is that software asset management platform la tend to require ongoing tuning. And I also think the value can feel uneven across different parts of an organization. Finance and IT often get the mist immediate benefits because they care about cost control, licensing, and compliance.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

The important point is to define ownership clearly from the start. Software asset management sits at the intersection of IT, Finance, procurement, and engineering, which means it can easily become “everyone’s responsibility.” And I’d also strongly recommend paying attention to data quality early on.
